Not a new movie - watched O Kadhal Kanmani. Somehow missed this 10 years old movie. Good performance by Dalquer and Nithya Menon with tight direction/story telling by Mani Ratnam.

Welcome to India albeit a generation late :) OK Kanmani was a "culture-crusher" in conservative TN making the live-in relationships acceptable!

I watched ‘Mrs’ in Hindi which is faithful adaptation of Malayalam’s ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’.

It is not as good as original in my view.
Original dealt with subtle tones of patriarchy, wife unaware of some customs seen only in Kerala households(Ayyappan mala wearing, not touching wife during periods, wife getting yelled for just mention of table manners etc etc).
Some of these customs don’t apply to North India households; so they introduced FIL’s birthday etc which doesn’t have same seriousness.
Nimisha Sajayan acted better than Sanya Malhotra IMO.

Hindi movie is a let down compared to the original. Original is available in AmazonPrime and is worth a watch with subtitles than this!

Is it responsible to show newly married educated woman to be unaware of what kind of customs her new marital home will follow? Yes, as many of these topics will not be discussed during Girl Dekho. I recently met a girl in park of my neighborhood. Her in-laws when they come to US for 6 months in an year, still follow these customs it seems. Told her to show this movie to them !

Watched https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mehta_Boys - Boman Irani's debut as a director on father-son relationship. Slow moving and low budget, one needs a lot of patience to power thru.

Watched https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Want_to_Talk about father-daughter relationship and great acting by Abhishek - no matter what he does he would always be considered inferior to his dad AB who was not that great in acting but charismatic. (like Rajnikanth)

The movie made only 1.5 Crore at the box office but a courageous choice by AB jr!

Watched ‘The mehta boys’ on Prime.
Boman Irani has acted well and Avinash Tiwary too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avinash_Tiwary

If he had last name like Kapoor or Khan, may be the main stream directors like Kjo or Adi Chopra would have given him chance!!
He is good looking, acts very nicely too but somehow is relegated to B-grade or OTT movies :(

Rifle club on Netflix.. A greatly stylish mallu movie that Quentin Tarantino will be proud off.. Anurag Kashyap displays his acting chops. loved everything about the movie.. Aashique Abu is a revelation as a director..

Watched Emergency on Netflix. Movie looked like a documentary on IG's life with focus on Emergency. It is ok timepass to watch. I felt Kangana overacted in some scenes.

Since I lived through the event it was a nostalgia. Those days did not know the impact of curb on freedom. I was happy DTC buses ran on time and stopped at the bus stops. My school was close to city center, so we used to get many holidays when rumours spread that sterlization team is coming to our school. I did not know what it was about but enjoyed extra day off.

One day a classmate brought a box of Nirodh and we made baloons of it and played with it in the cricket ground. Simple carefree days! Jane kahan gaye woh din?

Watched https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Be_Happy_(film) on Prime Video. Good acting by Abhishek, Nasser and the kid. Decent movie - not sure why critics gave it only 1.5 out of 5 stars, but I am sure Jinsak would give it 5 stars with Nora in it :)
